Advertising Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
As part of the Insights group, the Advertising Analyst will be responsible for the overall analytics process and organization that delivers information, insight and recommendations that measure and optimize marketing communications. This position will provide leadership and execution in the analysis of all marketing communications including; data collection, developing tools and techniques for performance tracking and measurement, definition and reporting of key performance indicators, providing quantifiable recommendations for marketing campaign and content optimization. Key to this role is the ability to provide data-driven insights, which result in specific action plans and quantifiable business improvement.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop analytics and business intelligence process through alignment of performance metrics, analytics structure and reporting with overall business and marketing objectives. Provide guidance and best practices expertise to key business partners around scoping, designing, executing and analyzing tests
- Define key performance indicators based on business and marketing goals and objectives to measure performance
- Implement analysis of data, and translate to information, which will inspire strategy and optimize campaign
- Reveal recommendations rooted in research and analytics to optimize marketing communications
- Generate reporting tools from external and internal data sources
- Reports: Create and distribute regularly scheduled analytics reports and executive summaries for various Clients that illuminate insights based on key performance indicators in order to make informed business and marketing decisions, as well as identify recommendations to optimize performance
- Data visualization and dashboards: Construct dashboards and data visualizations to accurately report insights and recommendations in a visual and engaging manner
- Establish tracking methods Acquire full understanding of technical development to ensure that content is tagged and tracking correctly for all marketing communications (e.g. banners, website, etc.)

- Extensive experience in advanced data analysis techniques and statistical methods, including data modeling, querying and reporting tools, metrics reporting, prospecting, business intelligence, A/B testing, multivariate statistical analysis including regression, regression tree, logistic regression, cluster analysis, etc.
- Leverage state-of-the-art data mining tools and modeling techniques to solve business problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAS, STAT and other statistical and analytical tools
- Excellent understanding of data monitoring, analytics, reporting and optimization for offline and online marketing communications, including, but not limited to:
- Websites (e.g. Omniture, Google Analytics, ClearSaleing, etc.), content management systems (e.g. SiteCore, Ubuntu, etc.) blogs (e.g. WordPress, etc.)
- Digital Media: Static, Flash and rich media banners (e.g. Dart, Doubleclick, etc.)
- Search: Organic and paid (Bing, Yahoo!, Google, etc.)
- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, etc. (e.g. Radian6, Spiral 16)
- Email (e.g. ExactTarget, etc.)
- Mobile and Tablets
- Direct response
- Act as point of contact for Analytics on cross-functional teams
CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other related field with emphasis in quantitative methods preferred
- Clear track record of academic and professional excellence in analytical fields of work and study
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a research or analytical role at a market research firm or advertising agency
